# Times

> Time formats, precision, and ordering in the Enhanced Radar API.

* Times are RFC 3339.
* Responses are in UTC.
* `since`, `until`, and `at` accept any offset, e.g. `2026-10-22T14:00:00Z` or `2026-10-22T07:00:00-07:00`.

## Precision and ordering of `received_at`

A transmission's `received_at` is the time its audio clip ended.

* It is accurate to within 20 seconds.
* The order of transmissions by `received_at` is exact.
* A transmission always has the same `received_at` in every response.

Each endpoint's `since` and `until` select by its own timestamp, as the API returns it; see [Time windows by endpoint](https://enhancedradar.com/docs/api/docs/api/concepts/selecting-data.md#time-windows-by-endpoint). Times derived from transmissions, such as an event's `happened_at` or a flight's `status_at`, have the same 20-second accuracy.
