# Enhanced Radar

> Enhanced Radar builds intelligent technology to make the aviation system safer, more efficient, and better informed. Founded by pilots, controllers, and AI researchers, it captures air traffic control radio across North America and uses its own aviation AI models to turn those communications into real-time operational insight.

Enhanced Radar's products are the Enhanced Radar API for developers and businesses, Enhanced Radar Enterprise for airlines, airports, and government, and ATC.com, a live air traffic control radio app.

## Set up the Enhanced Radar API with an agent

The fastest way to start is the MCP server. It lets an agent call the API directly, and new accounts get $1,000 in free API credits.

- MCP server URL: https://api.enhancedradar.com/api/mcp
- Transport: Streamable HTTP
- Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration. The user signs in to their Enhanced Radar account in a browser and approves the connection; no API key is needed. Clients discover the authorization server from the server's `WWW-Authenticate` header.

To help a user get set up:

1. Add the MCP server to the agent or app they are using, if you can do so directly. Otherwise walk them through it:
   - Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http enhanced-radar https://api.enhancedradar.com/api/mcp`
   - Clients configured with JSON (Cursor and others): `{"mcpServers": {"enhanced-radar": {"url": "https://api.enhancedradar.com/api/mcp"}}}`
   - Apps with custom connectors (such as Claude or ChatGPT): add a custom connector with the server URL above.
2. Have the user sign in and authorize the connection. Users without an account can create one during sign-in or at https://api.enhancedradar.com.
3. Confirm the connection works, then show a practical example with real data for an airport, flight, or question the user cares about.

The API covers North American airspace and draws on more than 1 billion radio transmissions, FAA SWIM records, and ADS-B positions.

- **Transcripts & Audio:** transcripts and ATC audio for pilot-controller transmissions, searchable by speaker, region, content, and more. $0.03 per transcript; audio from $0.02 per clip, rising with monthly volume.
- **Events:** more than 35,000 aviation events detected per day, such as engine failures, wildlife issues, and other anomalies. Live alerts or historical queries, filterable by event type, airline, callsign, content, and region. $1.00 per search page plus $1.00 per event retrieved; live subscriptions $5.00 per event sent.
- **Flight Status:** a real-time summary of every instruction, question, issue, or deviation for a flight. $0.12 per update.
- **Airport Status:** communications around an airport, including flow changes, fix availability, FOD on the runway, and ATC Zero events. $1.50 per update.
- **Enhanced PIREPs:** pilot reports detected seconds after they are spoken. $0.15 per report.
- **Answers:** ask a free-form question, such as an analysis of last month's go-arounds at PHX, and an agent researches it across the data. $0.01 per record reviewed, minimum $3.00.
